About Sonja Wagner
Sonja Wagner was born in Oklahoma City and holds an MFA from Wichita
State University. Her first cat, Miss Ugly, lived to be nearly
23. Cleopatra and Axle currently provide the feline inspiration
Wagner finds indispensable to her artistic endeavors. All three
enjoy listening to flamenco, jazz and tango.

Most of the time, Wagner is making art. When she isn’t,
she likes to cook for friends, who include chefs, actors, stockbrokers,
dance critics, educators, television show hosts, and ecommerce
mavens. She never met Andy Warhol, but then she never really wanted
to (though she does admire his work).
A number of corporations boast collections of Wagner’s work—among
them, Regency Development Company, Capital Technologies and The
Litwin Companies in Houston; Wichita’s Fourth National Bank;
Trammell Crow in Dallas; and TNT Designs, New York. Wagner has
lectured in Washington, D.C., and Wichita, Kansas, and exhibited
in Wichita and New York City.
New York’s garment district has been Wagner’s neighborhood
for the past thirty years. She has supported herself mostly by
working as Art Director for a number of adult magazines.
In addition to several painting projects, Wagner is currently
engaged in fashioning high-heeled shoes for her coffee table.
