Everything is moving, all the time. Mostly, our
eyes filter out what they can’t fix in space and time. But
just because we don’t see something, that doesn’t
mean it isn’t there.
Wagner’s whisper paintings are an extended
calligraphy, broken to match the dreamtime. Instead of holding
to continuous lines, they shatter like schools of fish, yielding
a collection of whisperings. Free-floating prayers waft across
the canvas, reminding us suddenly of moments we keep forgetting:
those vivid cracks in time when the ground shifts under us and
we pray, to what or whom doesn’t matter.
These oil paintings capture a profoundly human language, spoken
but silent, that transcends and echoes through space. Deceptively
multidimensional, they keep challenging the viewer to return for
another glimpse of an elusive, yet intimately familiar, world.
